“Re-education for me meant I had to matriculate at senior level in maths, and demonstrate that I had a reasonable level of communication skill. This is where the Learning Network Queensland’s UNILEARN bridging courses played a major part in my re-education. These courses allowed me to obtain the necessary skills in less than a year. Once I had reached that goal and gained entry to university to study engineering, I felt that what I had achieved was worth the effort.
Re-Education, is it an affliction or a contagious desire for knowledge? I am not sure, but I have come to realise that ongoing education is an absolute necessity.”

“I have tried for admission to university several times since I left High School in 1991. It was very upsetting seeing my application denied each time. I completed several UNILEARN and Open Learning courses in 1998. I once again submitted my application for university, but this time the result was different. I was accepted. I am now studying part-time at the Queensland University of Technology towards a Bachelor of Applied Science, majoring in Biotechnology.
Overall, the Mathematics course did the world of good for me. It gave me the background knowledge and confidence that I needed to carry on to further studies. I fully recommend to any student wishing to further themselves academically that this course be completed before beginning any other course.”
