Course Overview
This course provides an important foundation for university level maths, engineering courses, and most science courses. This course is equivalent to year 11/12 Maths B and provides a foundation for trigonometry and calculus. (Introductory Mathematics knowledge recommended).
This is the second of two Mathematics Foundation courses in preparatory mathematics.

The course covers a range of topics equivalent to that covered in the last two years of advanced mathematics at high school, including:
- functions and their graphs
- coordinate geometry
- trigonometry and periodic functions
- an introduction to differential and integral calculus
- statistics and probability.
On successful completion of this course, you will have the prerequisite knowledge for the study of the mathematical content of undergraduate programs in the Applied Sciences, Engineering, Mathematical Sciences, Economics and similar courses which require mathematics at senior high school level. This course is also suitable for many positions in industry, commerce and the defence forces.

Calculator Requirements
For any of the maths courses you may NOT have a calculator that has CAS (computer algebra systems) functionality.
You may have a scientific calculator or a graphing calculator without CAS functionality. Please make sure that you check this before purchasing your calculator.
Cost
Australian students: $775
International students: $915
The course cost covers the course and all course materials (including any textbooks), but does not cover the fee for sitting the final exam.
Final exam cost
Australian students: $65
International students: $130
How long will this course take to complete?
You have 12 months to complete this course, however it may be completed sooner. Need an extension?
This course requires a minimum of 220 hours or 18 weeks to complete.
Final exam
To be eligible to sit the final exam, you must complete and pass with a 60% all of the progress tests for this subject. Completing all tests will improve your chances of successfully passing the final exam. More information about submitting work »

On successful completion of your final exam, you will be awarded a Statement of Achievement.

Before enrolling in this course, you must check with the university you plan on attending to ensure you meet their requirements for the completion of this course. (For example: some universities require you to receive at least 75% on your final exam before it will be accepted.)
