Course Overview

This course provides a foundation of chemical reactions, inorganic and organic compounds; and readies you for university level chemistry and fields that rely on chemistry knowledge, this course is equivalent to year 11/12 Chemistry. (Introductory Mathematics knowledge recommended).

This course covers:

  • what is chemistry?
  • matter and the periodic table
  • the gas laws and the mole concept
  • chemical bonding
  • rates of reaction
  • chemical equilibrium
  • acids and bases
  • chemical energy
  • oxidation and reduction
  • organic chemistry.

Cost

Australian students: $775
International students: $915

The course cost covers the course and all course materials (including any textbooks), but does not cover the fee for sitting the final exam.

Final exam cost

Australian students: $65
International students: $130

How long will this course take to complete?

You have 12 months to complete this course, however it may be completed sooner. Need an extension?

This course requires a minimum of 220 hours or 18 weeks to complete.

Final exam

To be eligible to sit the final exam, you must complete and pass with a 60% all progress tests for this subject. Completing all tests will improve your chances of successfully passing the final exam.

On successful completion of your final exam, you will be awarded a Statement of Achievement.

Before enrolling in this course, you must check with the university you plan on attending to ensure you meet their requirements for the completion of this course. (For example: some universities require you to receive at least 75% on your final exam before it will be accepted.)
